Is your heart lighter than a feather? How will you enter the gate of paradise if you have not stepped on the serpent of your lower nature?

In this incarnation, the lesson of the soul is devoted to their own Light, to the balance of their heart and Spirit. Libra needs to find the centre of light and the forces within them and unite with them. Like Aquarius, it is considered a sign of brotherhood since their peace heals and makes them a kind and wise figure, a true brother. As a sign that begins with the autumnal equinox, the Sun - having already covered half of the zodiac- learns to balance, to bring harmony, to complete the opposite. As in the scales of justice, the symbol of the sign, there is a cosmic balance, a law in the universe, the karmic law; like the beauty, and perfection associated with the divine breath (air sign) that passes into the matter. In Egyptian religion, every soul after death had to appear before God and weigh itself to be decided whether this soul was good or not. That is, whether the good and bad qualities of a man were balanced or whether they created many karmic debts. To do this, the god put the man's heart on the scales and a feather on the other. If the heart was heavier than the feather, then the soul after a period of rest would have to return to earth and under the influence of Saturn, the corresponding Egyptian God, to reincarnate, in order to achieve balance and beauty.

In fairy tales, we see the hero - usually a prince - having to pass the test – usually an impossible task- in order to get the kingdom from his father and often marry the princess. So like the prince, Libra is looking for a treasure that is difficult to find, and many times they have to go through a tremendous process, a great lesson in order to find great balance and courage within them and eventually to get the kingdom their heart desires.

In Buschart's painting we see the alchemical marriage of the Sun with the Moon, the weighing of the heart and the spirit in a cosmic balance that creates the divine flame. The Hathor, the Egyptian expression of Aphrodite, is the one that stands on the side of the heart, while her husband, Horus, stands on the side of the feather. According to Herodotus, the anniversary of his birth was celebrated on the last day of the month of Epiphis, when the celestial bodies of the Sun and the Moon were in syzygy.

Venus, the Ruler of Libra.

Allan Leo proposes a slightly different approach than the one usually suggested by the Greek goddess of Love and Harmony:

"The vibrations of Venus directly affect the higher part of the nature through the human soul and higher mind... The love is shown by Venus always sanctifies and makes for harmony through conjugality, friendship, and soul Union.
[...]The Sons of Mind who came from the planet Venus gave to infinite humanity its first journey, that of true mind which is in its essence immortal and through this, the period of months evolution was considerably shortened by the receiving this divine spark, the seed of the human soul was implanted in the animal man who would otherwise have spent countless ages in acquiring that which this beneficent beams through the love and compassion gave to humanity. ''

As we have seen in the Theosophical writer Alan Leo but we find the same in the writings of the prophet Edgar Cayce, Venus plays an important role in helping mankind. The fact that it is much closer to the sun than the earth and because it is the brightest at dawn and in the sunset, we see it from ancient times to the present day, to function as a mediator between the earth and the will of God. There is still the belief that Venus leads humanity and brings the teachings of the brotherhood of Christ. The great teachers who have served as messengers on this earth all speak of the law of love and brotherhood, values and qualities attributed to Venus. Its synodal circle creates an exceptional symmetry, which is symbolized by its five-pointed star created by its movement, something that represents the absolute expression of God in man and man in God. We see the same symmetry expressed in nature and life. All the laws of physical form depend on balance and dimensions, a rhythm and symmetry that determines their beauty and their very nature. In Greek mythology, Aphrodite was born in the foam of the sea and it is no coincidence that Venus' exaltation is in Pisces, the sign of the sea. A sign ruled by Jupiter, which has an exaltation in Cancer, the sign of the Moon - again a sign of water - and the Moon again has an exaltation in Taurus, which is the sign of Venus. So we see a Trinity of planets: Venus, Jupiter, and the Moon which are very much connected, and through esoteric astrology we see these bodies reveal the will of God. By Anastasia Diakidi
