Astrological Time Machine - 15 September

Updated: Sep 15, 2021

September 15, 1890, the "Queen of Mystery and Crime", Agatha Christie, was born in Devon, England. Christie is considered one of the most prolific writers, as until her death she wrote about 80 novels, 30 collections of short stories and 15 plays, while under the pseudonym Mary Westmacott, she also wrote 6 romantic novels.

For many years, her time of birth was recorded being at 4 am, by a writer who had "heard" it. However, in 2017 some documents and letters were found about Christie's birth and now we know that the exact time of birth is at 2:14 p.m. This gives her the Sagittarius ascendant (23 ° 36΄) and based on this revelation we can safely study her natal chart.

Agatha Christie was born at a time when Pluto and Neptune were beginning a new synidic cycle (a condition that occurs about every 500 years) in the sign of Gemini and the era begins with the technological explosion, while it is essentially the beginning of modern history. This aspect on her own chart is in the 6th house related to work and service and -specifically with it- she expressed it with her work in a pharmacy during the First World War where she learned the poisons and the drugs (this helped her so much later in her detective novels). Also, Neptune as the ruler of the 4th house (house, father), in conjunction with Pluto shows that she lost her father early.

In the Midheaven of her chart, which is related to her career and public image (or formerly the husband as the position of the woman in society depended on her marriage), she had the planet Uranus, a planet that gives eccentricity and innovation. Undoubtedly, Christie established the detective novel, created characters that were loved, such as Hercule Poirot, who was the only literary character who had a obituary in the newspaper when he "died"! Also Venus in Scorpio, shows her love for mysteries and suspense, while her romantic life also had suspense with several engagements and ephemeral relationships. Venus in the 10th house of Saturn brings love with soldiers or people with power, social standing, and prestige. Specifically, her lover and later husband was a pilot named Colonel Archibald Christie. But the icy strong influence of Uranus combined with the difficult Venus of Scorpio gives divorces. As a result her marriage ended, when her husband asked her for a divorce because he had fallen in love with another woman. This was followed by her famous 11-day disappearance that had upset the press. The whole nation was looking for her, while she was simply staying in a hotel (she had checked in with the name of her husband's mistress!) She was suffering from a nervous breakdown apparently, away from the spotlight. A period of true mystery, which she did not want to include it even in her biography.

She also had a 'Uranian' relationship with her second husband who a lot younger than her. He was an archaeologist and Christie spent a lot of time with him in the excavations in the Middle East. With her Mars in Sagittarius, world-renowned men as well as men with academic careers and knowledge could excite her. As evidenced by her Moon with Mercury in Libra in the 9th house, in addition to reading and writing that she loved, she was very interested in foreign cultures, justice (hence crime novels) and social gatherings, since in her youth she did not miss any parties or lively social events (see also Sagittarius Ascendant).

Also in the 9th house of study, it is the Sun, a planet associated with her father, and according to Wikipedia, Christie was educated mainly by her father who was home-schooling her. Her mother, it is said to have been highly intuitive, referred to as a psychic (Moon trine Neptune) and she believed that it was better for Christie to slow down with her education. Something that did not happen as she learned to read by herself at the age of four. However, she was very close to her mother (Libra Moon trine Jupiter Aquarius) and when she died, Christie faced perhaps the biggest existential crisis of her life.

Agatha Christie's contribution to literature was recognized and brought many honours during her 85 years of life. Her works have been translated into over 100 languages and to this day are adapted for the theatre, television and video games. The North Node of the Moon in Gemini, shows that Christie finally worked her karmic contract and gave the world her talent, with true love and consistency for literature, making her rightfully the greatest writer in England.
